| Quilter's Quest 106 E. Princeton Dr. Princeton, TX 75409 (972) 736-6212 Mom and I visited the Quilter's Quest in Princeton Texas on Saturday March 10. We were looking for quilt fabric to make a quilted patchwork sweatshirt jacket for a Garland Quilt Guild work shop in a few weeks. When we were at the Garland Quilt Guild meeting the gal we sat next to said she had just visited Quilter's Quest and that we should take a peek. Quilter's Quest was really easy for us to find. We just went out highway 78 to highway 380 and it was right there as you went through town in Princeton. The shop sits off the road on the top of a small hill. They had lots of parking. As you walk into the shop Quilter's Quest has lots of upcomming quilting events posted on the wall and a few chairs off to the side so you can sit and take a loook around. The shop has a fantastic selection of fabrics and are really well arranged. Quilter's Quest also had lots of quilt patterns and quilting notions. I purchased these for my patchwork quilted jacket: A rose by any other name Prism Minerals (Orange Swirl) by Free Spirit D817-725 Prism Minerals by Free Spirit D1125-730 Michael Miller C2490_Apple "Dumb Dot" Michael Miller C2510_Turq "Stitch Loops" Michael Miller C1400_Retro "Spotlight " Micheal Miller (flowers) Moda "Happy Go Retro" By Arrin Turnmire Moda Uptown - "Psychedelic Circle Brown" Moda Uptown "Psychedelic Circle Cream" Textured Marble Aqua *I'll take a photo of my jacket when it is all made up. There were no classes going on when we visited the shop to we took our fat quarters into their class room to make our choices. The class room was large and well lit. I also purchased the "Turning Twenty" quilt pattern book. I am going to make the quilt in all Moda Funky Monkey Fabrics- I'll take a photo when its done. On Friday night, I was at the quilting lock in at Suzy's Quilt shop and one of the gals made the turning twenty quilt in one night...and it looked very nice! Nothing I love better than an easy pattern that alwo looks great. I am really into the art quilts so I like to keep the actual "quilting" pattern as easy as possible so I can spend my time on the fabric dying, applique, beading and thread painting. Not that my grades matter...but I would give this shop a A+. Easy to find, good selection of fabric and patterns and they are super nice! My mom bought almost all the fabric to make her quilted sweat shirt jacket there too. Here are some photo's of her jacket I made its almost done. I just need to sew on the binding. |
