| Welcome to SewFunPatterns.com Home away from home for sewing and art quilting enthusiasts! In addition to raising my twin girls and son, the last 4 years, has been spent collecting vintage patterns and experimenting with different fiber and mixed media techniques. I have documented my creative process with digital photos to share the techniques with folks. I learn much faster by seeing a technique performed then by reading it in a book, and think that many other artists probably learn that way too. My goal is to share sewing, quilting, and mixed media info and create a valuable resource for other fiber artists, mixed media artists, doll/toy makers and crafters. On the eve of my 37th birthday (that I thought was my 39th-a story for another day) I pledge to myself to make 2008 the year to create. I will do something creative every day from today until my birthday next year. I'll try to take lots of photos and keep an online creative journal. Last year 2007, my focus was designing new patterns so this year should be a really fun and creative free for all with no pressure. Do you own a sewing store or quilt shop? Do you need programs or classes for your quilt guild? I am a Husqvarna Viking Freelance Educator and Certified Sulky Teacher. I am available to teach any of the machine arts classes in Texas. | I just finished this art quilt. It is made from lots of different applique leaves. Drew collected a bunch of leaves for me and we made templates from plastic. The leaves are made from silk, batik, felt, organza, angelina fibers and cotton fabrics. |
